ARTICLE III PURPOSE
The purpose for which the corporation is organized is:
The Florida Geocaching Association, a non profit organization, strives to advance the sport of geocaching throughout the state of Florida.
We endeavor to accomplish this by:
- Encouraging fellowship and fraternity amongst Florida geocachers by
maintaining a web site and hosting geocaching events
- Fostering geocaching etiquette and responsible stewardship of our environment
- Ensuring access to public lands for geocaching by working as a liaison with
public land-use agencies
- Promoting geocaching as a worthwhile family-oriented outdoor activity.
- Fund raising as necessary to fulfill our Mission
ARTICLE IV MANNER OF ELECTION
The manner in which the directors are elected or appointed:
A board of representatives will direct FGA, Inc.;
consisting of a representative
from each of the regional districts, as defined on the website, and 2 representatives
at large.
These representatives will be elected by a vote of FGA members from their
respective regions, or appointed by regional organizations where they exist.
In the event of vacancies the remaining regional representatives will
appoint a replacement. The representatives at large will be appointed by the
regional representatives.
Representatives shall serve as directors for two years. They are empowered
to do all the business of the corporation.
Membership defined:
A person may become a member of the FGA corporation by completing
an online application on the FGA website. Any member over the age of 18 years
may vote in their regional district of residence.
